Alpha Juno 1 Help

Post by spencer » Sun Oct 08, 2006 9:14 am

Just unpacked it after a couple years in storage. Lights up but no sound. Only asterisks (*) in LCD. Have it midi'd to my HP 5600. It will only produce the voices of the HP. Does this mean my internal battery is dead ? And if, how do I replace it and then reload all the Juno's original patches?

I remain.

Do this:

To check the RAM

1. Turn the POWER off, hold [OCT DOWN] + [MIDI] and power the JU-1 on.
2. You will either get RAM CHECK OK or RAM WR/RD ERROR

To check the battery

1. Power off, check pin 24 + 12 of the TC5517APL IC RAM. A healthy battery will have reading between 2.8V - 3.5V. If not, replace it with a 3V lithium battery.

That sould solve your problem.
