HELP! Sh-09, hung note.. just got off Ebay..

Post by monk_volcano » Sat Dec 30, 2006 8:58 am

sooo. i bought an sh-09 off of seemingly good chap on ebay. he shipped it to me insured through USPS. I got it today, plugged it in.. and behold, there's a hung note that won't stop playing no matter what.

if you press the keys, it will shift the pitch, sometimes to the key you pressed, sometimes irratically.. it basically does the same thing when controlled by CV, except that the hung note goes away, and the notes trigger correctly 1/2 the time..

i don't know what to do.. does it need to warm up or somehting?? or should i try and get the insurance money as soon as possible?

Sounds like a stuck key contact. Can happen even during packing/shipping. Should be a an easy fix.

i dunno.. wouldn't the keyboard be bypassed when the gate and pitch CV are plugged in? it still malfunctions most of the time when controlled by an external source. the pitch is irratic.

also.. can anyone tell me what the 3 trims that have caps on them do? they are located directly above the pulse width slider.
