Hi folks,
Just a quick question for anyone who's owned the original KP-1 Kaoss Pad.
What's the life expectancy of one that's seen semi-regular use? Are there any components that typically fail or break?
I'm debating picking up a used one, but I'll pass on it if I don't think it'll last at least another year of regular use.
Thanks for the help.
Cheers,
ew

Decide for your self. It look like the pad can c**p out at any time.

There is users and power users. The users use only use the synth. The power users use every thing.

the review above was for the kp2 not the kp1.
kp1= delicate fall apart bleh
i have heard very good things about the kp2.
mine should be waiting for me when i get home from work!!!
it will go perfect with turntables my qy and sp202...and esq-1 once i put another new battery in it.

I bought a KP1 used a few months ago. I've used it pretty regularly and haven't had any problems yet. That said, it certainly doesn't feel very sturdy (feels more like a cheap children's toy than a piece of legitimate musical gear) so I wouldn't count on it lasting forever, especially if you planned on ever taking it outside the house. I'd say if you can get it for a really nice price go for it, otherwise save for something that isn't made out of the most super-discount Chinese plastic.
Hmmm. so this all seems to confirm what I thought - sounds like a risky proposition.
I was wondering since I've seen a lot of them on ebay listed as "not working".
Again thanks for the input.
