Matrix 6 with missing levers

Post by crenner » Fri Sep 07, 2007 5:23 am

I found an Oberheim Matrix 6 that the guy wants to sell for $200. Good price, but it's missing the pitch/mod wheels. It has the wires leading out of the chassis to where they would hook up, so maybe I could replace them myself? Could they be replaced by a standard pot? Or is the price difference not worth it? I've seen them go on ebay for 280.

Given that the matrix 6 has no knobs for programming, I think that mod wheel would be vital for live performance...

Is the midi implementation good enough that I could use an external controller for mod stuff?

The Matrix-6 doesn't use wheels. It had levers (some call them paddles).

Probably hard to find. Maybe you could hookup wheels - I don't know.
