laptop USB trigger finger problem

Post by voltageHead » Mon Apr 14, 2008 1:14 am

I own two computers.I also have two M-Audio trigger fingers.
both of the trigger fingers work fine with my desktop.
but the laptop registers in that the trigger fingers are malfunctioning.
I use to have xp on my laptop the first time I tried the trigger fingers.
now i have vista and they still will not work.
to make things more strange my radium 49 works fine with my laptop?
I just don't understand what could be doing this.I sat and looked through windows control panel and system settings.
I have live 5 on my laptop and would like to use it with the trigger finger.
I have installed the driver before I plugged in the trigger finger.
It must be something with usb settings?
did any one else have a problem like this.

What kind of laptop is it? Some laptops don't provide the full 500mA that USB ports should, which could cause this. Does the Trigger Finger have an input for external power? If so try it with that and see how you go.

it is a gateway.I will try and find the model number.
the trigger finger powers up when i plug it in.
I never thought that it could not be getting enough power from the port.

I should buy a power supply for the trigger finger and try that.
