Atari to Stereo cable?
i would like to conveniently get audio out of my atari 2600. are there any adapters that go from whatever that is (RCA radio?) to 1/4" or 1/8"? i don't really care if the video signal is optional... if so, where do i get such a beast?

Re: Atari to Stereo cable?
You could use a VCS2600 Emulator for PC or Mac, other than that their's probably no way around the TV Audio-Output or building your own audio output by grabbing the singal before it enters the HF-Modulator...

Re: Atari to Stereo cable?
emulators are not an option for me... this is for live use for non-laptop music... so i can't have a laptop!
yeah, i've thought about making my own stereo outs... but i don't want to damage the original box. if its my only option i'll give it a try.
i just thought i couldn't be the only person who has wanted to do this. i'm surprised there isn't a little converter already. then again, i know almost nothing about RF.

You could use an old VCR with Scart out and get a Scart to stereo audio adaptor/cable
mostly enjoying adventures in sound

Re: Atari to Stereo cable?
Can't you just do an audio out mod? Highly liquid does them, it seems like it would be pretty simple.
so what do I put down here now?

Re: Atari to Stereo cable?
If you do it cleanly, it will probably riase the value if you intend to sell at some point.
Also, just curious, what are you running? Synthcart? Do you like it?

Re: Atari to Stereo cable?
Using an ATARI 8Bit Computer with monitor output (can be used for audio out) might be an option, since the soundchip is very similar sounding but with doubled polyphony.
Re: Atari to Stereo cable?
You can get audio from tapping it in the RF modulator section of the atari. There's schems on the web here and there.
