I hooked my Nord Lead 3 midi going out into my Roland JP8000. I want to use the NL3's clock to sync with the JP's tempo for simultaneous beats/arpeggiator sequences/LFO sync etc. However, I don't want my Nord's keyboard to control the notes being played on the JP. So the question Is: is there any way to make it so I can control the JP's tempo with my Lead's clock, without controlling the JP's note activation through midi?
PS-for some reason Roland didn't give the JP midi thru, just in/out.

Re: JP8000 and NL3 midi sync
It sounds like you got the clock sync functional. Now set you midi channels on the keyboards to be different. Keep in mind that hte JP8000 uses two midi channels in split mode.
