Follow the calibration procedure on this page (click on pages 9-14):

The octo coupler is the big chip above the battery....Do these go down often..?

So...All voltages on the power board check out ok, I have not come across this before.

Even in test mode it stays the same....

Should I replace the optocoupler...?

FIXED...It was just the voltages on the power board that needed adjusting...

Anyway i will replace the battery..It's the first one i have seen with no leakage.

I need to save it's patches...Has anyone a link to the manual ....?

Or knows how to save....

You can save the patches by recording through the To Tape output and onto your computer/a tape. You push a few buttons to initiate the process and then play it back to the Polysix via the From Tape input to restore your patches. You just need to make sure you get your levels right.

For details on how to carry out this procedure refer to the user manual. You can find it here in PDF format.

No problem man. Hope you have more luck than me with that - my Polysix's patch memory is dead.

Yup - I replaced the battery as soon as I got it. Before this the synth was totally unpredictable and practically unusable, after everything works as it should, except the patch memory. When I try to save patches it doesn't store them correctly - always messed up sounding.

Any ideas? I think the battery leakage maybe affected the chip that handles the patch memory. :(

OK....First..You checked all the tracking around the battery including the chip above (SN74LSO8N)...

You should also change that chip..It's tricky but has to be done.

tell me... 8)

I wouldn't know where to start with a multimeter...never mind de soldering a chip! I'll remember that number though.

Not having patch memory on a Polysix isn't a huge deal for me - I'm just glad it works 100% otherwise. :)
