JUNO 6/60 LFO button: repairable or replaceable?

Post by rjd2 » Tue Nov 03, 2009 8:58 pm

hi folks, i have a disassembled switch of an LFO button on juno 6/60. it is apparently a rubber contact that connects the 2 internal pins. not working. tried cleaning. doesnt make any engineering sense to me, but i'll trust that it made an electrical contact in its heyday.

is this replaceable or repairable? thanks, rj

Yeah, it is repairable. You need to repaint a contact surface on there.

I repaired all the switches in an MC-4 using a Chemtronics Rubber Keypad Repair Kit (or something similar to repair remote controls).

For one switch it might be easier to try to get one from chipforbrains or you could try to put something else conductive on there.

Opening the switch took me a second to figure out, push the tabs in and slide, but then Iso and a q-tip did the trick. Did you get that far? The chemtronics fix should be a last resort. I think these are the same switches as the 808 start/stop/tap and the JP-6 LFO. Chipforbrains/technology transplant carries them if you need a replacement.
