Arp Odyssey replacement slider help...

Post by Gamma Goblin » Wed Dec 15, 2010 3:48 am

Greetings synth lovers! I recently acquired a beautiful MkIII Odyssey (2823) and I'm in the process of getting this little gem back up to speed. I successfully did the Kevin Lightner PCB cleaning (simple green with high pressure water) which worked great at cleaning most of the crud out of the sliders but some of them just need to be completely replaced due to wear. I've found sliders online (synth repair websites) but the prices are extremely high considering that these sliders cost less than $3.00 on Mouser dot com. So I was wondering if someone here with a good understanding of Odyssey specs could point me in the right direction with what part#'s to order off of Mouser? I was thinking of getting the Lumina slider mod DIY kit for $412 from CMS but I'd really just be happy with ordering these same sliders from Mouser and skipping the powered LED portion of the mod (I just want good quality sliders LED or original style). If anyone here can suggest what part numbers to use, this would surely help myself as well as others looking to order new sliders without paying almost $10 a slider. Thanks in advance for any replies!!! : )

I need sliders with these specs and quantities (not sure about what wattage to use though... I'm guessing .25 watts??? Am I close??? And would I use the "Lug" style for the termination style?):
MkIII Odyssey- 11 x 100k Log. 15 x 100k lin. 8 x 1 Meg Log.

Here are the sliders on Mouser:

I realize this post is old. If you are still looking for replacement ARP Odyssey sliders in the original factory format they can be found at Synth Patchers. http://www.synthpatchers.com. Cheers!

Thanks for the heads-up. I am saving up money to buy some replacement sliders for the 2600 as well as a full set of Seqeuncer sliders.

I also make some adapters for using newer Bourns PTL sliders (the LED ones) inside some of the old ARPs. That is the ones that use the CTS 5700 series. A full list is on the site.
