Annoying Roland D-50 Keyboard clicking sound

Post by Spadz » Fri Dec 31, 2010 5:48 pm

My D-50 makes an annoying clicking sound from some of the keys. Before I decide to open it, I want to know if someone knows something about this.

1. Worn felt on aftertouch strip (click on key-down)
2. Worn upstop felt (click on key-up)
3. Forign object under keys (paperclip, guitar pick etc.)
4, Key spring out of place or bent
5, broken key (in pivot area)

Is this a new problem? So many vintage synths have shitty keybeds...mis-guided attempt to save production costs?

I got it about a year ago and it came like that, I think.

Number 1 option sounds possible.
I guess I'll have to open it and see.

Thanks a lot.
