ARP 1623 CV question

Post by invisibleairwaves » Sun Jul 03, 2011 11:15 am

So...

My friend has a line on an ARP 1623 sequencer. He's hoping to use it as a modulation source for his WMD Geiger Counter pedal, but he's not sure if the voltage range of the ARP's output is in the correct voltage range for the Geiger Counter's CV input. Is it compatible? The site mentions an optional adapter for sale, would he need that?

He's not much of a synth guy, and my experience with all-analog gear is pretty limited and I don't know a heck of a lot about CVs, so I figured I'd ask here. Any enlightenment on the subject would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

IIRC, The output is volt/octave over at least 5 octaves with 15V gates, but the 1601 service manual would tell you for sure and it's available free online. You friend happens to have the nicest analog sequencer ever made IMHO.

Okay, thanks for the help. So the 1601 and 1623 model numbers are interchangeable?

Yep, the differences are just cosmetic.
