Roland SPV-355 P/V Synth

Post by loftyhippo » Tue Dec 11, 2012 5:10 am

I was thinking about getting one. Has anyone used it before? Not much info online about it. VSE doesn't even have it in the database.

I've got one. While it does have a thick sound and is supposedly the same synth engine as the ProMars, it is a very limited synth. I can see how it would have been a useful tool, mostly in live situations, I don't think it is really worth the money they fetch.

I've borrowed my brother's trumpet and trombone (I played euphonium in high school) and plan to make a demo video of it when I find the time.

A nice demo of it would be great! There doesn't seem to be many on Youtube...

How do you find the synth sounds as an expander for other synths? Does it add a lot? I mean, 2 VCO's is impressive. I would like to use it with my Juno 60, but I hear the tracking is sketchy.
