Sequential Circuits Six Trak & Roland TR-707

Post by we_squirm » Fri May 10, 2013 4:16 pm

Anyone own both of these? No matter what I do I can't seem to be able to sync the Six Trak to the TR-707 clock. Any ideas?

According to the manual, to select external MIDI clock, simply turn the Speed knob fully clockwise.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

I've done that but it doesn't seem to do anything. The arp is just out of sync and really fast.

The manual also says the arp is not synched to MIDI clock, only the sequencer is :banghead:

Hi!
All is not lost.
It depends on the OS version of your six-trak. As far as I remember you have to turn the speed knob fully anti/counter-clockwise for the arp or seq to sync to external midi clocks, and not clockwise.
My six-trak used to only sync to a midi clock sent from my SCI Tom but not from my computer or Monomachine, which was very strange, I didn't know there was so many flavours of midi clock.
But getting the latest OS version solved this.
Hope thats of some help
707 and six-trak sounds like a killer combo in a live situation
