Hey,

I have a SCI Six Trak and found this article...

I want to get it talking to my Behringer BCR2000. The first step is to download midi ox which is a windows program. I'm on a mac. I'm already lost. Anyone else try this?

You need to map CC messages to sysex using midi OX. I have had to do this with a lot of my old analogs such as the Roland JX series. Basically, you must look in the back of the SCI instruction manual to see what type of midi message the unit wants to receive. Chances are it is a type of message that the BCR2000 doesn't put out, so you must map each BCR message to the proper SCI message. It is tedious, but rewarding once you finish. It will take a couple or three hours to do. I recommend also getting the vinyl overlays for the BCR so you can label the front panel for a bunch of different synths. Good luck!

neanalog,

He's using a Mac...no MIDI-OX.

I'm not sure what MIDI-OX is needed for anyway, the BCR sends CC which is what the SixTrak receives.

Ahhh, I missed that. Still, he just needs some program that will do midi mapping. That's all that MIDI Ox was to be used for.
