Commodore 64 with Mssiah...having SD2IEC problems

I recently just bought this SD2IEC device Imagehttp://www.sd2iec.co.uk/id14.html and am having problems using it with Mssiah.....Anyone use this device? .....I have tried formatting the SD card to FAT & FAT32 per the instructions...I have also tried formatting it using the Mssiah disk file manager, but I get a "SYNTAX ERROR" ....It appears to save a file properly, but then when I try to open files it says "No Files"....When I go to the directory, I don't see the names of the files that I saved, I just see for example the number 11 for each file I saved......Any suggestions? ...Did I waste my money :/

I don't have a specific answer, but I did google and found this thread:

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic ... AQUyg8mFkU

Seems to be the problem you have. Read further down.
Also you can try other links in the google search, see if you find anything. I don't wanna go through them all.

https://www.google.de/?gws_rd=cr&ei=Nj4 ... iec+mssiah

I seen anything from "they work perfectly together" to "won't overwrite existing files"

yeah, I saw that thread....there was not really a specific answer for me there...thinking about posting my question there, but that thread is over a year old...hmmm...I've spent at least 2-3 hours googling with no real luck....If I wasn't strapped for cash I would prob just buy an Ipad mini with a midi interface and run the monosyth controller app https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/monosyn ... 43614?mt=8 ....thinking about selling some more gear ;)

Never had this issue. What device number is it assigned? Do you have anything else apart from MSSIAH connected?

Also, the format function in MSSIAH is meant for floppies, not the SD2IEC.

Also, you can't overwrite previous files. This isn't the issue of MSSIAH or the SD2IEC, but how the C64 handles files itself.

at the moment 8..I've also used basic to change it to 9 and had no luck as well.

I unhooked the floppy drive for now, so no..just the Mssiah cart & the SD2IEC is connected.

O, okay  ...perhaps my Windows XP or Mac OSX is not properly formatting it to FAT or FAT 32??..wondering if that could be the problem...or maybe the SD card? ...hmmmm :?

Yeah, might be the SD card itself. Try a few and see what happens. Did you try saving to a floppy?

Some people had problems with their SD2IECs in terms of saving too. I recall that a firmware update should fix it. I haven't tried this myself, but ask about on forums such as Lemon64 or the MSSIAH forum for more details on how to do it, they might be able to help you out. There's a forum dedicated to the SD2IEC too, but it is in German.

yeah, that's what I've been using (1541), but it's HUGE & heavy and I'm about to start traveling all over the US for the next couple of years and wanted something smaller....

I'm on the Mssiah forum...it's kinda a dead forum  ...I'll try the Lemon 64 tho...thanks for the recommendation :)

...I'm also going to try and test at least 2 more SD cards as well
