Yamaha DX7 owners: could you do a quick test for me, please?

Post by Azurebirch » Fri Dec 13, 2013 4:58 pm

I'd be very grateful if somebody with an up and running DX7 Mk I could do a quick test in the following scenario for me (it only takes 2 minutes):

1. Select VOICE INIT patch (just one sine wave with a full sustain envelope)
2. Change the algorithm to #16 (one carrier for maximum output level)
3. Play a big chord (as many keys as possible at the same time)

Can you hear any clipping/distortion on the sustained notes? Yes/No

Thank you!

Thanks, so it seems it's normal. Running carriers at outptut level [80] gets rid of any clipping though.
