dual synth midi connections(alesis micron +microkorg)

Postby Baloo » Sun May 10, 2015 3:15 pm

Hi there. Just yesterday I tried linking my 2 synths(an alesis micron+korg microkorg) by a midi cable so as I can set the tempo for both units off 1 of the synths. I would like the microns tempo function to control the tempo for the korg. I have changed the settings on the micron so its midi(sync) is set to generate midi clock and have set the korgs clock to external. By doing this I achieved what I wanted as far as setting the tempo goes. However now the keys on my micron when played controls the sounds on the korg which is not what I wanted. All I wanted was the tempo functions to be in sync. Can anyone help me on how to achieve this please and thank you?

What about setting the Korgs midi receive channel to something different from the Microns midi transmit channel? Then it should not respond to the keys.
