Can cc midi messages be sent through an MPC 2000XL?

Post by clegg » Mon Jun 08, 2015 7:41 pm

I'm fairly new to controlling synths via midi.
In my computerless studio I'm using an MPC2000XL as my main sequencer and a Nord Lead 2X as my main "controller" (limited to notes right now). Besides that I have a Juno 106, a Microkorg and a dw-6000.
I'd like to know if anyone can suggest how (if possible) I can get the Nord lead to control synth settings on the other synths through midi.
The Juno 106 has sysex info all over the net, and I'm wondering if there's any way to set that info up on the MPC and mapped through the Nord to the 106.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.

The midi CCs maybe, those are common and often work the same for the same common midi parms from one synth to another that has midi (you just hook them up with midi and they work together or they don't), however the SysEx messages will probably have to be sent from the MPC as a sequenced event that you enter or record. There may be other ways or work-arounds but I'm going to stick to this as a quick and dirty answer for you.
