octave cat envelope/adsr triggering

I'm having some strange issue with my octave cat (non-srm) where sending it a cv/gate will not consistently trigger the adsr under some conditions.

Sometimes it will, but sometimes not. I've tested it with different cv sources and levels and it's the same.

The strange part is that it will trigger every time if it's receiving a new note or cv value, but if it gets the same note twice in a row, it won't retrigger the adsr, but it will retrigger the ar. Anyone ever seen anything like this? Is it normal on the cat?

Tried some basic stuff and came up with nothing. Haven't checked the trigger generator section which I probably should have hit first.

But I still don't know if it's normal behavior or a problem. I really don't understand why it triggers fine each time except when it receives cv from the ext jack that is the same as the one preceding it.

Anybody have a rev A Cat that can tell me if it's normal?

It has been many years, since I had my Cat, but if memory serves, there was an issue with retriggering before it reached a particular point in the ADSR envelope. I never used external trigger feature, so it must have been an issue with at least one of the other trigger sources, as well.

My memory on this is quite fuzzy, but I think it would retrigger fine, once the envelope generator had reached the sustain portion. It might also have had to do with the position of the I seem to remember investigating the issue by setting the time for the attack and decay segments of the ADSR envelope in turn to its minimum and trying the retriggering.

I hope I am steering you in the right direction.

BTW, I just noticed that someone is selling a set of Cat manuals on Ebay, should you wish to get the official answer from the factory on how the triggering is supposed to work.

Good luck.
