Suggestion for VSE synth browse/resources

Postby briandc » Sat Feb 09, 2019 10:05 pm

Hi everyone,
in my exploration of additive synthesis, (and not knowing which hardware synths are additive-based, apart from the Kawai K5000 series), a thought came to mind: wouldn't it be nice to be able to browse the hardware synth list by method of synthesis? Would this be possible/feasible/of interest to anyone else?

Not a bad idea, but ordinary people don't care (or know) what kind of synthesis they are looking for. And most people who are into synth already know the basics, so it might not be the best use of ressources...

This is a great suggestion! There could also be a filter that separates synths that are exclusively one type from synths that might be only partially that type, to find something that might not be fully analog, but have an analog filter, or something that might have a small fm section, but might itself not be a full FM synth.
This looks like a psychotropic reaction. No wonder it's so popular...

Of course, I don't know how the synth pages are organized, so I don't know how simple it would be to implement. Kinda' thinking of what a spreadsheet-type of file could offer, but ....
