Synth Junkies Who're Guitar Junkies Too
i'm guilty, guitar was my first serious instrument aside from piano lessons when i was young i wish i'd never quit and about two weeks with a sax in fifth grade. guitars started showing up enough in the "latest acquisition" thread that i thought i oughta start a guitar one here. share pics of your axes, amps & pedals! (bass & acoustic quite welcome too!)

Re: Synth Junkies Who're Guitar Junkies Too
I need to take more pics then...
edit: and here they are...
My first Guitar, the black mim tele bought in the 90's brand new from guitar center, and the other telecustom built by yours truly using warmoth parts, guitarfetish parts, and original fender parts...

pictured here are my favorite and main guitar which is the 90's cij jaguar, the latest purchase a gibson les paul classic, and a 70's japanese EA 250...also on the background is a covered fender deVille 440 a little danelectro DIrty Thirty...

My favorite and main amp Musicman 112RD

And my pedals which are nothing special except for the ibanez compressor which is my "secret weapon"

Not picture are a fender mim jazzbass, a vintage 79 p-bass, and a project lap steel guitar...

likewise. i currently own 16 electrics, 2 acoustics and 3 basses...
edit 1: re: pedals being nothing, whatever, that hazarai and muff are nice ones!
edit 2: playin' favorites...
'62 jazzmaster reissue

sexy twin univox hi-fliers

custom jaguar (currently my favorite to play)

doctored '66 mustang - my fate guitar since i landed a ford '66 mustang a few years ago

second guitar ever owned, MIM strat. in the process of switching it to new pickups.

sick $300 deal i landed at a police auction - gibson SG bass from before they started using serials.

'04 platinum SG, matching case isn't in the photo. probably duke it out w/ the hi-flier for my second favorite to play at the moment...

this one's special, hence several pics... univox 335 my dad picked up and custom painted for me as a christmas present back around the millennium. changes colors in different lighting from green to blue to purple thanks to pearl.

$75 four pickup crown i grabbed on ebay.

'51 i added a lefty '77 to.

oddball 12 string i grabbed on craigs.

oh and the little wooden dude rocking the batteries is named Creepy. since he is.

Re: Synth Junkies Who're Guitar Junkies Too
I was happy to finally play some guitar at our gig this weekend. Carvin TL60 into a Carvin MTS 2x12 tube combo. It had been 10 years since I played guitar onstage. All keyboards since then. I've never played guitar only in a band. My fellow synth nerds may want to check out the digitech GSP1101 or similar processor. It was as much fun to program as any synth I've had. Alas I sold it to get moar synthz

My 1968 Messenger. These were built in Astoria, Oregon for about a year and a half. There were some prototypes built from kits as part of the Tongue Point Job Corps program in Astoria going back to about 1964 which can be seen here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-BURKE-A ... 1e72150944 .
This is the same model used by Mark Farner on the early Grand Funk records. It has an aluminum neck, DeArmond pups, and built in fuzztone. They also made a stereo version, a short-scale bass, and a line of amplifiers. The amps can be seen here:
http://pnwbands.com/sirs.html
Eastwood came out with a Messenger tribute model a few years ago which looks a lot like the original but has a wood neck and humbucking pups. http://www.eastwoodguitars.com/

I have many but here are the ones I play most
Charvel Surfcaster with added Bigsby, Chet Atkins arm, locking tuners, and GFS lipstick Alnico humbucker

Dano Danoblaster-cum-Bass VI with added GFS Alnico lipstick pickups. It's tuned E to E and serves my bass and baritone needs.

Prototype Fullerton 12-string Mosrite copy

Re: Synth Junkies Who're Guitar Junkies Too
Thanks. Danos aren't my faves and there are models I like better. But I wanted a 24-fret Bass VI-type instrument and there just aren't many options for that out there.
Some really cool guitars in this thread. Love your HiFlyers and that Messenger.

Re: Synth Junkies Who're Guitar Junkies Too
Oh sorry, always forget to look down here. Too many categories to check ha.
The guitar is one I built, based on a yamaha SG (might have some build pics on this computer if you're interested?) The mesa is a Nomad 2x12. not many about as I think they were not particularly liked as the pots are pretty badly made and one of the higher gain channels sound a bit much but the amp itself does sound real nice though.
Oh and that pic is my wife! (kidding) it's just a random google images of a Spider woman for a pisstaking post on another forum, can't remember what context exactly though.

If you have some build pics you wouldn't mind sharing, I'd love to see them. Maybe another offtopic thread [so we can avoid getting called out for turning this place into a glearslutz type of forum]...
Very cool looking ax.

Here you go. I really need to get round to getting started on another to be honest so I can learn from some mistakes on this one.

Re: Synth Junkies Who're Guitar Junkies Too
This is the best $150 I've spent on an amp. It even came with a jan-philips nos 12ax7wa. Its a modified knight kn-3035.
I have to set it on bricks because it burns the table

And this is the amp that I built when I was younger. It is pretty nice, but looks bad. Its a fender 5e3 deluxe clone.

I plan on building a 5e1 clone sometime.
