I got a TX81z recently and had a blast using it to make sound effects. I made a whole patch library for the rainstorm effects, which you can get here (bit.ly/synstormTX1) or in the link in the YouTube description.

cheers

Honestly enjoyed the sound! You did great job here, as well as on other videos I've just checked on your youtube channel! Keep it up ;)

Only just saw these. Nice work! Thanks for sharing. I loaded them in FM8 :)

Cool! Now I'm curious: how do they work out in FM8? I don't have FM8 so I'm unable to test them there. Do the patches sound substantially different from the isolated ones in the video?

I don't have anything DX or FM, but I had to congratulate you on a job well done, both sonically and visually. My favourite scene is definitely the cat.

Maybe ask me again in a month when I have time to multitrack them with reverb like you have in the video :)

I also uploaded a 30-minute version of the synthesized storm onto youtube for your meditative purposes.

The dripping sounds are seriously so cool! Never heard anything like it before, they're so static-y and crazy sounding. Way to go!!

That's just excellent work.... I'm amazed at the realism of everything combined. Especially the pitter patter of water droplets. =D>

The most fun I had with a Yamaha DX21 was also programming rain and thunder sounds after hearing it in a video game..,,I would split the keyboard to play both and just wished it had a velocity sensitive keybed.
