I like your "pirate's flute" quite a bit.
ion - dx7s - alpha juno 1 - k-station - piano forte (buy it)

Here's a song made with the Roland Alpha Juno 1 and the MKS 50 (wich is
the same engine). Only effects used:Delay, auto-pan and reverb. I used also a sampler (A3000) but never change or alterate the original sound of theses machines.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... Everyone needs an Alpha! I'm contemplating buying another MKS-50 :D

here's to show how destructive the SYB-3 and PS-2 can be, here it's the ER-1 who takes punishment: I sent ca 50/50 wet/dry from the PS-2 to the SYB, which had also ca 50/50 wet/dry ratio

ER-1--Mono out-->PS-2-->SYB-3--->Audacity

00:00-00:27: just some dry ER
00:28-00:50: the SYB-3 turned on, mode 9
00:50-01:23ish: The PS-2 (manual mode) is turned on, while the SYB is turned off. Knob wankage
01:25-02:15ish: SYB turned back on, turning knobs mainly on PS-2. more knob wankage
03:35: Delay mode on PS-2 turned on. Completely ugly and useless drums emerge ;)

track is called "Ugly Drum Loops"

haha, no it's the Boss PS-2 Pitch Shifter/Delay compact pedal, possibly the most dirty piece of gear I've owned yet :)

oic :D many older Boss pedals are nicer than the newer. I'd be interested with a PS2 music (synth/seq) apps, specially since it has USB and rich audio interface.

Jupiter 8 Non-Resonant Pad Demos

http://108.163.194.218/~murmurbe/music/ ... NRpads.zip

18 patches from my Jupiter 8, most of which can be classified as non-resonant pads.
Each demo follows a format with four recordings of the order:
dry - chorused - reverb - chorused and reverb

Chorus - Boss CE-300
Reverb - Lexicon MX300 preset "Fantastic" through SPDIF in post

All patches are played in Whole mode. ie. there are no "layers" which are achieved using Dual mode.

The filename/patch-names are the "bank" and patch number. My JP8 has a mod which gives it three so-called banks of 64 patches instead of just one.

Standard disclaimer(s):
This isn't music, just demos: If I could play in proper rhythm and anything but basic chords in realtime, I would, but unfortunately, I SUCK. It's mostly lots of tonic/sub-dominant/dominant, with alot of fifths and blocked triads. Nothing special.
Also many of the recordings are noisy because I never changed the volume and compressor settings for the entire session, so some were boosted digitally up to 10db, and most of them are run through Waves L1 to achieve loudness. Please write this off as an "afternoon production".

I am no longer in pursuit of vintage synths. The generally absurd inflation from demand versus practical use and maintenance costs is no longer viable. The internet has suffocated and vanquished yet another wonderful hobby. Too bad.

Roland RS09

Post by tomorrowstars » Thu May 08, 2008 9:01 pm

Here's a video of the functions of the Roland RS09. Not a synth that everyone is aching to acquire, but I think it's got some charm.

So... I ditched my Sunsyn. It sounded fabulous, but somehow the sound didn't fit with my current music... So... I got a Studio Electronics Omega 8 instead :)

And here is a demo of a few patches I made. Not groundbreaking stuff, just some traditional synth sounds that I like, pads etc. All dry, no limiting (turn up the volume), no nuttin'... except for that very last bit.

6 of my own FM8 sounds: FM8 sounds (mp3)

i.o.o.a.:

Metal Factory (lotsa banging on whatever's metal)
Kenya (African drums 'n things 'n stuff)
Orchestral harp
Flying Waltz (couldn't resist.. :P and ok, it's not 100% accurate but what can ya do)
'The Enigma' (dated.. but still that guilty pleasure)
Dulcimer (a bit experimental, not exactly easy to make)

No post processing, just raw exports.
"You know I love you, CS, but this is bullshit." (Automatic Gainsay)

My new(ish) Boss DR-110 playing through some shitty patterns and turning up the accent level. It being my first analogue drum box I was blown away by the SNAP!

It's a little bit EQ'd via my mixer but other than that it's quite raw.
