andromeda mangled by eventide orville.. (mp3)
just began to scratch the surface on my new Eventide Orville.. wanted to make a few demos to show basic character when used with analog synth. andromeda is doin lead, pad and realtime tweaked analog drums, thru array of reverb/delay/pitch combos...

I googled the orville. Never heard of it. But it looks like a bloody serious effects unit. You build "patches" on it like you would on a synthesizer?
Only the modules are blocks of effects?
Seems to have some very interesting reverb+delay combos.
Does that delay in the second file actually transpose the delayed sound down an octave? bloody cool.

Some others work that way also, such as the TC Fireworx and pretty much any of the old eventide Harmonizers. Many people (including myself) prefer the sound of the older Harmonizers over the newer ones. I purchased an H3000 D/SE for a fraction of the cost of an Orville, and I much prefer the sound!Bitexion wrote:I googled the orville. Never heard of it. these presets are multifx chains using only one DSP. Orville has two of them. so basically u could get something like DSP7000, which is the same engine but with one DSP, and can be had for $1.8 - 2K. for comparison Orville goes for 3 - 3.2k in the States.maindeglorie wrote:WTF???? Don't care how much it is, I'm buying NOW!
also Eclipse, which has slightly lesser DSP, and is not modular configurable as DSP7000/7500/Orville, has most of these patches.. and sounds GREAT. i think its very cost effective. and they sometimes go used for as low as 1.4k.
thanks! ive made this sound a few yrs bk and since its become my most used/favorite A6 patch. even when completely dry it sounds distant/ambient. and now, combo with eventide pushes it out of this world.. im stokedBox wrote:I'll second that one!Mr. Black wrote:Those BerlinPad-Orville examples sound pretty sweet!!!

glad u like it .. here's a few more examples: a mm-style patch going thru S/H filtered delay, then subtle doubling w flanged reverb etc..Juno6 wrote:Amazing! beautiful!
Thanx for sharing.
I want more!!!
