Nice tracks. I liked Face Reality a lot, mostly for the great chord progressions. Daydreaming is the track you dreamed up, right? That's a good one too, I liked the ending most, with the thundering clap sound.

All in all your music has a lot of potential. (I know you're gonna hate me saying that.) Your sound has a lot of character, it's pretty authentic, but I think you should try using more modern gear, mostly in the recording element. Also, I think a wider palette of drum sounds could be really beneficial to the overall impact of your music.

You have developed a very recognizable style (heck, I remember hearing Growl in the compilation submissions, I instantly knew it's you), which is awesome, but it would be even better if it sounded a bit less lo-fi, and a bit more complex.

Cheers

hey optimus prime,

Thanks for the critiques. It's hard working solo sometimes when you have no one to tell you it's c**p before you finish it! Daydreaming was the track that was playing in my head when I woke up one morning, well, something close. Getting the songs to sound lofi isn't intentional, and any help in getting things to sound better would be beneficial. I have a suspicion that the guitar in my songs is the big culprit. Perhaps the drums would be next in line. I definitely see what you mean with the drum sounds. They need more variation, and less reverb perhaps. Thanks for the input

great stuff! face reality reminds me of something off of p**n, or a lot of bauhaus songs.

beating symptoms is great too, love the synths on that one.

you should really sing/get a vocalist
No one cares, no one sympathizes,
so you just stay home and play synthesizers.

I'm contrary to what was said earlier: I like the lofi approach to the guitar, drums, and most especially the reverb! How much of what you're doing is reamped and mic'ed? Some of it feels to me like what Joy Division would have sounded like, had they gotten into electronics 4 years earlier. Great style, keep going!
I am no longer in pursuit of vintage synths. The generally absurd inflation from demand versus practical use and maintenance costs is no longer viable. The internet has suffocated and vanquished yet another wonderful hobby. Too bad.

Good stuff! If its too lo-fi for ya, maybe you need a better interface, or mic pre's. Not sure what gear you are using but it sounds like you are peaking a few tracks. If you overload your incoming levels its hard to get rid of that distortion.
