A CS80 in action.....2009.
hey folks, i figured i'd give you a heads up; here is a link to a song that is ALMOST entirely done with a CS80(of course, not the drums, vox, and glockenspiel). for free:
http://fairtilizer.com/track/rjd2/games
i dont mean this as any sort of shameless plug or anything. im posting this cause i figured that folks might want to hear a CS80 outside of it's "usual context", i.e. strictly electronic music.

Not bad, but my synth totally has more balls than that one
Nice track, really nice to hear it in action this modern day and age.

Fresh track. I didn't know you were the actual RJD2.
RJD2 makes a cobbler and synths
That opening riff with the CS80 on the vid is vicious.

Yeah post some pictures of synth guts and you looking busy working on it before this gets chucked to the listening lounge.nadafarms wrote:didn't you say you restored the cs-80 and brought back from the grave?

Quite a departure from the stuff of yours I already have! Good stuff, Mr D2.rjd2 wrote:i dont mean this as any sort of shameless plug or anything. im posting this cause i figured that folks might want to hear a CS80 outside of it's "usual context", i.e. strictly electronic music.
Nice to see you're a fan of not over-compressing mixes, either.
Cheers

I know I'm a little late to the party, but that was awesome! I'm a big fan.

Very good. Listened to it several times.
Wouldn't have guessed it was a CS-80. Too bad you can attract people to listen to your stuff on forums like this mostly by mentioning the synths that were used on the track on the title of the thread itself (but then again, this is a gear forum anyway).

Great stuff. Very creative use of the CS80.
Yes it's hard to get folks here to listen to music, but its a cool place to talk about gear!

"Bump" because I recently submitted a track to the rjd2 remix contest and of course listened to all the audio on his website (not just the contest audio). I came across the track Games You Can Win and thought to myself, "Where have I heard this before?" Then I remembered. It's still a great track and currently my favorite jam.
Funny, I also thought while listening, "Man, that sounds like a CS80."
For what it's worth, here's my submission to the remix contest:
