Question, Synth from a song

Hi all,

My synth knowledge is pretty... let say amateur,

I just love the Synth from the french Band AIR and this one:

So wich synth can make that nice intense and rich modulation 'wha wha' sound?

A) Minimoog
B) MS-20
C) Solina
D) none of these answers apply

The MiniMoog or MS20 are both capable of producing the Wah-Wah lead sound. The Solina is a string synth that is most likely producing the string sound that comes in around 1:00.

Yep, the wah-wah can be done in that style by routing LFO to the filter. They are turning the LFO rate up and down with the other hand not playing keys. I love those strings. I'm no expert on what Air used, but think they had a VP-330 as well.

String sounds to me like the solina.. they use it all over that album. Minimoog will do the wha wha sound no problem

On the minimoog there is no dedicated lfo so you use osc 3 set to the lowest octave setting 'LO' and then use the osc tune dial to speed and slow the lfo to the filter
