Roland JX-8P multitrack demo

Post by antilles » Wed Dec 26, 2012 10:30 pm

I recently bougth a Roland JX-8P synthesizer and was inspired by its sonic character to do some Italo disco/spacesynth music, so I made this demo. I initially intended to repair the keyboard aftertouch and sell it on for a little profit, but I think I'm gonna keep it.

Even though the JX-8P has really slow envelopes and the filter lacks a little clarity, it's quite a potent synth.

Only the bassdrum and snaredrum are not JX-8P.

Nice job mate, the JX really nails the sounds for this style. Great composition too. Got an mp3/ogg/etc. I can download?

Love the track Antilles....why did you ultimately post, was it beause you felt the JX-8P has a rough ride in reviews.

the track could easily do a job for TV i thought...great production so clear.

just got hold of the JX3P and im loving every minite of it.

I love the challange of doing tracks with only one synth, and yeah, I definitely think the JX-8P is underrated. It's certainly not the best analog Roland synth, but it deserves a little more attention.

I think the JX3P is a slightly better and more versatile soundig synths. It has a clearer and more transparent sound. However the JX8P fits better in my current setup.

Wow, great spacesynth track, reminds me of Laserdance and such!

Also, the 8P sure shines in that style, with its clean and round sound.
It's not trying to sound like a moog or something, but it has a really pleasing sound to my ears nonetheless :)

Great video! Thanks for sharing. I love one-synth demos. The jx-8p certainly is an underrated synth that I wouldn't mind incorporating into my setup someday, before the prices go up.

Great track... I think most people would consider the JX-8/10 to have slow envelopes, but they are surprisingly fast, and great for bass.
Do you even post on vse bro?
