Where can I find more music with this synth sound?

Post by briandc » Mon Aug 05, 2013 1:07 pm

Hi everyone,
I've always loved the monophonic synth with portamento sound like you can hear at the beginning of this song by Billy Joel:

Can anyone suggest other songs that use this type of lead synth sound? (I already know many, but you never know... :) )

Thanks!

brian

Reminds me of the MiniMoog solos by Mannheim Steamroller: Fresh Aire 1-4

Rick Wakeman used a Mini sound like that quite a bit on his first few solo records.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Thanks guys! I'm very familiar with Wakeman, but I forgot about Mannheim Steamroller. Boy that takes me back!

I once had an album of the Close Encounters of the Third Kind, done by the Electric Moog Orchestra. It was really strange yet pleasant.
