Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread
I purchased an Ensoniq ASR-10 from phoenix224. I was very worried about shipping such a large and heavy machine from New York to California, but Mike (phoenix224) did an *incredible* job of packing it. I mean, yards of bubble wrap, foam packing, the works. When it arrived it was in amazing physical condition and I was very pleased.
However, the SCSI card (which, for me, was paramount to the usefulness of the ASR) was on the fritz. I took it to thesoniq, who happens to live nearby, and he told me it was a rare-as-hen's-teeth problem and required a replacement of the SCSI card to be functional. As you can well imagine, this was not a cheap part.
After I explained the situation, Mike offered to send me back some of the purchase price towards the repair, or for me to ship it back to him for a refund (at his expense even!) I opted to fix it (it is, after all, in great condition otherwise) and Mike PayPal'ed me the money as promised. The ASR is now working perfectly.
So, I'm very impressed. I have always been lucky to have had positive online buying/trading experiences but this one deserves special mention. Mike totally did me a solid and he deserves a commendation.
Thanks phoenix224!

Sold my ASR-10 to plexicube. We had to deal with a SCSI card repair issue, and plexicube was very friendly and cooperative. Also, it's a pleasure dealing with someone who knows their gear so well.
plexicube is an honest person and I highly recommend doing business with him.
