ESI4000 - Triggering a sample to play to the end

Post by tiktak » Thu Jan 11, 2007 6:12 am

So what I am looking to achieve is to use my drum pad to trigger a 3 to 6 second sample where when I hit the pad (or key) it plays the entire sample to the end.

I have owned E-MU samplers for years and have figured this out for the emax, emax II, EIII, EIIIxs/xp, but on the newer ESI4000 I simply cannot figure out how to do this or find if it is even possible to do. I have read the manual from front to back and haven't seen any mention of it. Any help would be great!

I've never used an EMU sampler but I'm sure it is possible. I would think it would be something with the EG, maybe opening up the release if that makes any sense.

put your release all the way up.
Brains can be used like a "stress ball," but only once.

There is a one shot mode. It's in Dynamic processing> Select zone> keyboard mode> set it to "trigger".

To parts to make it work - First you have to be in trigger mode - Second you have to set the release to be the same amount of time as the sample being played.
Thanks everyone. It works now.

It would be better to set the sustain time to the same length as the sample, with due regard to the pitch you've set the sample at.
