No offense, but I hope you guys drastically increased the quality standards on the presets - best thing I did with my PEK/MED combo was to erase all of the presets.Ski wrote: Since late May 2007.
dB, Ravi, and DocT have made some very tasty morsels, with DocT (IMHO) having made the single best patch ever, which you'll hear in preset slot #1. 8)

oh god db, just tell us what it is..
if you google the line "Beware the storm that gathers here..."
you get some song called "the prophet song"
is it a prophet in new clothes?
don't tell me it's a new drumtraks, because that would ruin the "moment"

It's got to be a 5 or more voice simple Rev 4.0-like Prophet. The clues point WAY too much in that direction.
It'll be like a PEK using the CEMs DSI uses in the Evolver, but minus EVERYTHING digital excepting patch-storage and MIDI. This to address the market demand for a modern, affordable analog polysynth from DSI that has 5 or more voices. So, keeping the voice architecture "simple" like a P5 with no bells and whistles allows to maintain a "lower" price-point.

I've thought of owning one, myself. But, I've gotten so used to programming beats/songs with Sibelius. There, you can program everything one note at a time, if you like. I don't think you have that freedom with any hardware drum machine.Dave Bryce wrote:I had one of those - they were great. 8)hyphen nation wrote:my drumtraks, the only drum machine I have never even considered selling, is black w/ wooden endcaps

Basically correct.sizzlemeister wrote:It's got to be a 5 or more voice simple Rev 4.0-like Prophet.
Again, basically correct. It'll be like a PEK using the CEMs DSI uses in the Evolver, but minus EVERYTHING digital excepting patch-storage and MIDI.
Yes...but it does have some bells and whistles. We kept the sequencer, added the arpeggiator, and tacked on one or two more fun little functions. This to address the market demand for a modern, affordable analog polysynth from DSI that has 5 or more voices. So, keeping the voice architecture "simple" like a P5 with no bells and whistles allows to maintain a "lower" price-point.
Prophet '08. Eight voices, all analog. Shipping next week.

Nope.sizzlemeister wrote:Is the PS built into the box this time?
Not that I've heard....Is there a parallel trade-in program available, too?
Wait until you hear it.That's what I wanted the PEK to be - for me. I love it, but, man the P'08 sounds perfect.

Both Ski and DocT have sound clips - maybe they'll be kind enough to post a few...
