Stunning demo-those sounds are really something special.
My first experience of Oberheim sounds was Laurie Anderson's "Big Science" LP,the OBXa I think it was.

Nice demo... I love the sounds that Obie puts out. People always call them "rock" synths that cut through the mix but your demo shows they can be quite mellow too. I would "JUMP" on one if the opportunity presented itself.

Two VCO: thanks to the push rods, one can choose several forms of waves at the same time!

HFinn, how do you feel it compares to that beastly Four-Voice you had?

this is proof that progress is not automatically better. i'd much rather have a new OB-X than an A6, but it just isn't going to happen.
the sample & hold, strings and filter sweeps outclass all the other polys i've heard.
it's like magic...so powerful yet delicate

That sounds truly majestic, Heath - a lovely demo.
I didn't get where I am today by posting on internet forums.

The only Oberheim I've ever seen for sale in Norway was a completely broken OB-8 in a store. And the tragedy is that they tried to hawk it for $2000! I played it, and about 40% of the panel functions didn't even work, including the paddles. Ridiculous. And neatly, the previous owner had wiped the patch banks aswell.
Oh yeah, and there's the Matrix-12 that's been on analog.no/salg for years now. A tad too expensive aswell (same as a new Andromeda).
