Well, duh! Haven't you ever dumped a bunch of skittles in your mouth and stuck your tongue out soon after in the mirror only to see the psychedelic multi-colored thingy danglin there!@#?

Or the glow-in-the-dark one?

Or the super-rare Highlander series in selected, authentic tartan patterns?

Or the mink-covered one....sooo, soft......

Hmmm ... me thinks a whole new round of 'net lore could be in the making ...

I pity the first guy to buy Tyler's transparent green 101 on Ebay!

Even though I could go for a few synths in the same blue casing as the Zoom 323 ...

The white one originally mentioned was painted by Customsynth.co.uk.

He mentions it here:

http://electro-music.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22087

There's a stack more synths they've customised the paint job here in their gallery:

Sorry about busting the myth

Cheers, Graham

When are you of the color obsession going to start insisting that the different colors are desireable because they have different sounds?

I have been accused of reveling in the glorification of analog minutiae on many occasions, and even I don't understand what the fascination with the SH-101 is, let alone the obsession with the colors.

I'd say a lot of it is they used to be cheap with a reasonable sound and function and got a pretty good reputation. Now, I'd prefer to get more for the money. If they were $100 they'd be a good buy for an analog.

Some say they can sound 303ish (and 303s sell for a fortune as we know). I think they're a ton better than a 303, but that's back to personal taste again.

As for the colors, who knows. "rarity"?
