Jomox Mbase01 bassline examples?
Anyone have any examples of the MBase01 used for basslines?

yup i was the one who ended up with your unit and then i sold it and i sorta regret it now that i want to go to a really simple setup the damn thing could kick a hole in the roof thats for sure.derma_tek wrote:i ended up selling mine, sorry i didn't get the examples to you.JSRockit wrote:Any examples?
honestly though for basslines it is capable but not the easiest thing to program, and doesn't really sound all that great in my opinion. the kicks are great but for basslines, i'd use anything else
Honestly a little phatty makes much more wicked kick drum bass lines sounds and is just as punchy...
The big problem is mbase doesn't do glide of any sort which is a big downer IMO.
Also it seemed like there was a pitch envelope or something that even when set to zero you wouldn't get a solid frequency, it would always be decaying in pitch a little bit so its hard to know if you're in tune. Really better off with a LP for analog kick-like bass lines.
BUT! I like the mbase kick a h**l of a lot better than a elektron MD kick. And if you're whole rig is elektrons you should get a mbase or a LP! Mbase is much more alive sounding than the md kick to me and I just ordered a xbase-888 today and can't stop thinking about the kick on that bad girl.

for sale/trade: EML-101
I actually like the EFM MD Kick...but I may buy an MBase01 so I can sample it into the MD and use retriggers and stuff. I was just curious about the bassline use...since Jomox likes to blab about it alot. I figured it was a one trick pony.nadafarms wrote:

Yeah, the LP...I had one, it's great at everything monosynths are great at basically.

Well, because I want to make my own...not use someone elses. I can buy it off ebay used, sample the h**l out of it, and then sell it for the same price. No big deal. I'm not opposed to sampling analog...I like digital anyway.nadafarms wrote:Why not just get some samples of the mbase and save $300?JSRockit wrote:
