yeah this subject has come up before so i'll say it again..
long story short - i bought my jp8 off of Sir MixaLot on ebay. i didnt really know this until i cussed him out about what was taking so long for him to ship it to me and then he confessed that it was him. I googled the name of the person i'd been dealing with and the first item that came up was his bio on mtv's website..
heh.. oops..
prolly shoulda had him sign the bottom but oh well. I still have the pics from the auction with his grammy and gold (?) record next to the jp8..

"All we used was the explosion and the orchestra hit. The Fairlight was a $100,000 waste of space."

No. I bought it off ebay about 3 years ago for £250 and the owner did not even shout its pedigree out on the auction. The owner who had it before him bought it off Alan Wilder in the mid 80's and then he bought it in the late 90's. I woz really lucky to get it for that price, the seller was a real nice guy. Im still in touch with him, he's one of my top synth friends in Sheffield.Juno6 wrote:You must be bloody jocking...Analogue Crazy wrote:My old Roland Promars was previously owned by Alan Wilder and used in Depeche Mode in early 1982.

I once had a Minimoog that was previously owned by Journey.
I also had a Rhodes-88 suitcase piano that was owned by Dionne Warwick.
The keyboardist from Blues Traveler wanted to buy another Minimoog that I had, but I wouldn't sell it to him.
From what I understand from the people I sold them to, a Clavinet I once had was eventually used by The Neptunes, and a Pro-One I owned ended up going to one of the guys in Ace of Base.
Oh, and I just sold a Rhodes stage piano that was supposedly owned by Merle Haggard.
Sorry this post isn't more exciting, folks, but that's all I got!
