future retro xs - inspire some gear lust please

Post by jp8080 » Thu Jul 31, 2008 9:01 pm

I'm not (as the kids say) "feelin" the future retro xs.

I have (and love) the 777 as well most of the other usual suspects (303, 909, 808, 101, sh2, etc.) but for some reason the xs is just not getting me going the way it seems to with everyone else.

What am I missing?

I think as a sound processor/filter alone it would be really cool. Also using it as a modular synth...

I decided to get a nice ms-20 because of the esp. But the XS sounds amazing in all the demos, I really want one. sell me yours?

Looks like your mostly into all-in-one x0x stuff. I suppose the XS appeals more to people into modular and semi-modular gear. It's like a modern alternative to the MS-20 and I'd guess that the MS-20 isn't your thing either. I'd love an XS but I think I might wait for them to pop up second hand. I hate taking the hit on new gear.

XS + mobius seems like a much more versatile combo for less cash than the 777.

Sometimes people just don't like stuff, nothing wrong with that.

There's a big waiting list for the XS anyway, one less person wanting one means the people who do will get one quicker.

No patch storage, it's monophonic, no keyboard, why would you want one?
