so, which setup do you think would be more appropriate for different sounds...

Roland JP-8000 + Nord Lead 2

Roland Jupiter 6 or 8 + Nord Lead 2

Roland Jupiter 6 or 8 + Roland JP-8000

half the reason i ask is because i've never heard the JP-8000 and want to know how similar it is to the original Jupiters

let the battle begin!!!!

in short: the JP got the supersaw and feedback osc that unique to it, plus it would do those standard VA sound. But to me it sounds VA. so the combination with a real analog synth would add another dimension to it.

The NL sounds great, but imo the JP-8080 sounds still greater...
So I'd go for a JP-8 and a JP-8080. I own both of them and I'd never sell these anymore.
But yeah the JP-8 prices are going mad lately... (I had the chance to buy one a few years ago - in perfect shape - for "only" $1500).

With out wanting to open up a can of worms, the Jupiter 8 is certainly not worth the money that is asked for it these days.

I agree but this could be said for many analogs these days, I bought mine for 1000 euros so i was lucky.

If i was to sell it i would ask the going rate of course.

If you wait sometimes these synths come up at a good price, e-bay has made this less though.

I have never been a fan of the Jupiter 8 for some reason, I have had a couple and never really got on with them, much prefering the OB8 and Synthex to be honest.
