Why doesn't the OB8 get more love? Because people are ignorant or foolish, that's why. They buy into hype, and hype alone drives a huge portion of the vintage synthesizer market. They believe that if only they had a Jupiter 8, they could somehow achieve THAT sound without any understanding, from an engineering standpoint, as to what went into the production to get THAT sound. I've gotten some incredible Minimoog clone bass sounds out of a Kawai SX-240. So good it's almost indistinguishable from the real thing. Yet nobody realizes the SX can do it. You just have to have a basic understanding of subtractive synthesis and some good ears.
So the OB8 is an awesome machine, every bit a great sounding as the others in the OB family and it's MUCH more reliable. I put it up there, realiablity wise, with the Japanese synths of that area. Mine is still running strong after 25 years.
