What are some good soft samplers?
Hi,
I'm FRESHLY new to the world of samplers, so I cannot give you any specific info on what I'm looking for. I just basically want to know the names of some professional, yet inexpensive (More than $200 for software is too much IMO) soft samplers.
Thanks in advance.

Kontakt is the big boy of the moment, there's loads of libraries for it... As Kontakt 4 has just come out, you should be able to find Kontakt 3 at lower prices as retailers will want to clear their shelves... Still, It'll probably be a bit more than $200.

Wish I could spare that amount of cash for that bad boy. lol.
Actually, I really don't need a large library of sounds or any library for that matter. I have been using the software DAW "Acoustica Mixcraft" for splicing my samples and it works pretty good, but it's not a "sampler" of course. Basically, I just want something that allows me to multisample across various areas of the keyboard, as well as looping functions. Are there any free but good soft samplers that just does basic stuff like that?

Get version 1.1.2, don't look back. Great filters. UI isn't as arcane as it looks.

Another vote for ShortCircuit. I'm on OSX & using Live's Sampler for these duties, but kinda miss SC a bit from the Windows days.

I makes working with samples enjoyable........but i'am havin spome problem witht e loops editor and the mapping editor. rest is groovy. the time and pitch functions are really hapenning.........
