Moog Taurus III picture
From Gearslutz. Claimed to be real. Looks very nice. Little Phatty design integrates perfectly with original Taurus UI I think!

Wow, looks cool. I didn't realise it was going to have an arp, was that on the original spec? Guess it's not too hard to add and would add a lot to something you play with your feet.

Re: Moog Taurus III picture
Ya, arp was in the proposed Taurus III spec. Not a feature of Taurus. Nice though. They've "bolted on" the digital control of the Phatty to the original Taurus synth. Personally, I'd prefer a 1U rack without pedals...

Re: Moog Taurus III picture
I thought this was going to be a wishful-thinking thread.
Are they really going to release this? Talk about a SERIOUSLY niche market!

This reeeally should be in a rack. They'd sell a lot more, and there are enough MIDI-pedals on the market to hook up and satisfy the purists. Then again, I'd imagine if they threw it in a rack, people would b***h about how it's more limited than a LP.

Re: Moog Taurus III picture
Automatic Gainsay, wasn't their plan not to build until they had enough deposits? So it might be a limited run, but they're all sold already...
Re: Moog Taurus III picture
agreed on the rack, I would buy one in a second. In fact my biggest disappointment with moog is that they still haven't offered a rack LP that can be polychained...

Perhaps they should pursue the same thing with a polyphonic board, then.

I only say so because the Taurus has never been treasured for anything but it's sound, and it's a sound which has never really been duplicated... not because of the organ pedals which I can't imagine many musicians using these days (when so many don't even want keyboards on their synths).

Re: Moog Taurus III picture
I work at a music store and a fellow employee of mine has a customer that's had a deposit on one for about a year. He mentioned something about a limited run. Possibly 1,000? That seems small...

Re: Moog Taurus III picture
Looks grate , however I wish the design would have been more like a II then I could use it as a desktop with cv ( I'm terrible with my feet lol )

I guess that's why they only made a thousand ... as I'm sure I'm not in the minority there .
Still glad to see the Moog name still carrying on !

I imagine the rack Taurus/LP with polychain isn't that far away...

Re: Moog Taurus III picture
Really neat that Moog is actually going through with this but only one octave? really? I mean, you don't need 61 pedals, but even the original taurus was C - F. I feel so limited when I play an organ with this small of a pedalboard. If you're not in the key of C it's really a pain in the a*s. An octave and a fourth like the original would be ok and I think two would be ideal.
Currently have: Baby Grand Piano, B3, CP-30, DX7, Casiotone MT-210, Axxe 1, EPS-1, Promars, MC-202, TR-606
