i found their site but their sparse description is not all that revealing. analogue? digital? hybrid? why are the patch cables "real"? how do you do "unlimited" routing & memory storage on something that uses "real" patch cables, unless it's really all digital? is this a competitor to bowen's solaris?

...the sound bites on their website sound digital. i love all the knobs, but i don't get the patch cables. interested to see more of this...
...speaking at length about something is no guarantee that understanding is advanced.

Hmm. I'm very happy that Korg continue to develop the Kaossilator, but it seems there's no real editing possible for the patches. And that sort of bums me out.
That and the ability to use it as a midi tone generator that could also be played with keys or sequenced, and the ability to send midi note messages to play other synths with the Kaossilator would have made it a must have. Still cool as is.

EDIT: You can play it from an external controller.

I was not really pumped for the op-1, in fact i VSE prematurely bashed it somewhat, but the interface on the keyboard itself looks brilliant...

this looks awesome-even if it's just a patched out FM synth, why has no one done this previously? 'Fraid the price is going to keep it to the upper echelons of synth hoarders though. Don't see how this could be competition to the solaris-keyboard and screens vs. modular?

Glad to see the OP-1 on its way... Really hope that thing is affordable from the get go-I love the screen and interface. I actually don't really care how it sounds or what it does as long as it makes noise
Do you even post on vse bro?

Universal Audio, makers of all sorts of recording plugins, announced partnership with Ampex to sell plugins that emulate particular Ampex tape stocks

Not a joke!!!

WTF is gonna be next, emulation of old Belden mike cables :?
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

state zero versus solaris!
both are digital synths with 4 osc, 4 filter, both have gobs of knobs...
state zero may be modular, but the solaris has tons of routing & modulation options. i think these two need to be thrown into the ring together...

Now THAT looks interesting. Can't wait to hear audio demo. I may be forced to buy something new for once. Twice, actually (new SEM - meet the new boss, same as the old boss)

Yeah in the other thread.

Where is the Obligatory New DSI product leak?????

Ok some demos and looking like 2011 release because they need to work on it more. Is it worth $700 to you? It seems like a "nice" piece of gear but they should cut down the price to like $400-500 and concentrate on selling a lot. They might be able to sell these in Microkorg amounts if they play their cards right.

Serato and 4-decks in beta.
