I thought the whole point of the Electribes was the interface, the sound isn't anything you can't achieve with software anyway.

Re: iElectribe
Well Korg's very simplistic , but effective take on the drum synthesizer with it's built in step sequencer and fx would be welcome in my DAW any day and I'm sure I'm not the only one . Besides I dig the sound engine as well it's very different from my current workhorse ( Waldorf Attack ) not better , but different in a complimentary way and one can always make room for more sound sculpting options .steveman wrote:Why would they?loungedumore wrote:So are they going to make an Audio Unit and VSTi version ?

I agree on that statement. ESX is just a sampler with nothing special on the engine, what it makes electribes so cool, is the inmediacy at the moment of composition or perfomance, they are really fun and intuitive hardware devices.steveman wrote:Why would they?loungedumore wrote:So are they going to make an Audio Unit and VSTi version ?

Re: iElectribe
Seems Korg is getting deep into the causual hobbyist market...how many apps do they need to sell to make a profit or is this just a loss leader for the SD-card Electribes (it looks more like an ESX than an ER)?
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Now that you mentioned it, yes, I didn't put too much attention to it , until I observed there is no SAMPLE START and SAMPLE DECAY knobs next to the big effect knob like on the ESX....meatballfulton wrote:(it looks more like an ESX than an ER)?

And it seems there are less effect options....
it sucks it sucks!!!
And this is its second of that kind I think so. There is another one for the portable nintendo

Re: iElectribe
Well the reason you don't see sample edit options is because the 4 main parts are subtractive synthesis of course there are 4 PCM (samples) parts in addition to that for Hats/cymbals/Clap .balma wrote:I agree on that statement. And as far as the FX go ....well the ER1MKII had only delay this actually adds to that with grain shifter , filter ,bit decimation , reverb , etc. so yea they really scrimped there .
I think your confused because they did make it look more like an ESX than an ESR1 MK2 ...you know the brown one . Not the red one .

Re: iElectribe
As I just learned that the iPad will feature a book store as well, I'll probably go for it instead of Amazon's Kindle. And that means I'll definately pick up the iElectribe also

Re: iElectribe
Looks like a lot of fun, and the cost is less, but I'm wondering why would one not get a hardware unit instead. They're most fun tweaking randomly. I hope this also has knob recording. Still if I had an iPad I'd get it.
