303 tracks that aren't acid

What are some tracks that have the 303 that aren't acid? I'm interested to hear it in other contexts.
Particularly the 'squelch' but not in an acid track.
I think i can hear one in 'Ray of Light' by Madonna, and there is one in that horrible Brokencyde song, but what else?

I always thought that was a SH-101. William Orbit uses the 101 quite a bit.

Rip It Up def sounds like 303 to me.

There's tons of hard techno, breakbeat, trance etc., especially mid 90s that uses 303s but isn't really Acid House. But I guess that's not quite what you looking for.

Always liked this, 303 comes in half way through.

Azul Y Negro: Technovision (LP released in early '83, recorded in Sep/Oct '82):


I'm not totally sure if this really is a TB-303 though. However, this is what Azul's synth player, Joaquin Montoya, had
to say about it: "Really, in "Technovision" we didn´t use the TB-303 because in that moment didn´t exist this
machine. Anyway, the TB-303 is a copy of another sequencer "THE BASS LINE" from Roland too(not midi)
and was programmed by hand and synchronized with a CV GATE from the SOLID STATE COMPUTER. So we used "bass
line", instrument that I keep like a "souvenir".

Hmm, I wonder if he's talking about the TB-303 (aka the "Bass line") or another Roland sequencer such as the CSQ-600
used in conjunction with a Roland SH-series monosynth!? I'm confused....

What do you guys think?

The only other 303 like machine, afaik, which came out in 1981 was the Firstman SQ-01 made by Multivox, which was probably where Roland got the idea for the TB-303.

to say they were "influenced" by Devo is the understatement of the century

I'm quite sure that there was no tb303 in Madonna's ray of light. If you mean the main analog sequence (it doesn't quite sound analog to me) there, then i'm prity sure that its a jp8080 which i know that he used during that time.

I think this record has the best "non for acid" usage of tb

I always loved hearing 303's outside of their more common context. I've been experimenting with using it in the world of dub music, and I think it can fit in well. or, it worked well on one of my tracks anyway

oh, and on Leftfield's "song of life", that bassline is a 303, no? and even tho it's dance music, I wouldn't call it acid

Yeah right, but Montoya said the machine he used on "Technovision" was a Roland too. Hmm...I wonder if it could've been the TR-808 triggering a SH-2 or Jup-8!? I know they used those (among other synths) on the "La Noche" album. He also mentioned that the TB-303 didn't exist at the time of that song but that's not correct, I'm pretty sure it came out in the spring of '82 several months before the song in question was recorded.
