krautrock 2010? maybe..

Post by West_Berliner » Fri Oct 15, 2010 6:15 am

I made Krautrock today. A really good friend of mine is getting his custom furniture business going in Vancouver, BC (http://www.remifurniture.com) and wants to release a promotional video from it. Since videos with no sound are boring, he got me to write some music.
this is what came out.

it's as close to krautrock as i've ever gotten. it also helped me get out of my music writing rut.
I will post the video once he posts it.

I suggest the video mix version of the song, but the original mix only varies slightly. it's a little more dynamic, and the guitars are louder in the original, but I think I actually prefer the video mix after listening to it a bunch of times.
it's free to download of course. but if you feel like donating, go for it, I won't say no 8-) (and thank you in advance if you do)

gear wise, since I know we're all interested, this is what I used
elektron machinedrum - main programmed rhythm
fender jazz bass - drone bass
fender stratocaster - delayed guitar, dirty slide guitar
nord lead 2 - warm lead synth
access virus c - detuned arppegio
waldorf attack - additional percussion

Very nice work, not a fan of the kick though. Aside from that mix sounds good :)

I like it too. I agree too that the kick might be just a tad too pronounced, but still a very enjoyable track.
