Hi
Does anyone know if you have to load patches from a cartridge into the a DX7 overwriting what's in the internal memory - Or can the DX7 access them direct form the cart, leaving the patches in the internal memory intact?
cheers

Re: question about DX7 cartridges
To the left of the display, there are "Memory Select" buttons, one for cartridge and one for internal. Hit "Cartridge" and then you can access the 32 patches in the cartridge just like you would with the internal memory (access and store).
There's separate "Protect" buttons for internal and cartridge as well, so you can write protect/unprotect each individually.
So, essentially, with a cartridge installed, you have access to 64 patches instead of just 32.

Two VCO: thanks to the push rods, one can choose several forms of waves at the same time!
