Synths for Minimal Acid.
Hey,
I'm new to the synth world and I only have a Monotron at the moment. I should be getting a new drum machine soon. I'm looking for bass synths that would be good for making minimal Acid or just flat out "ambient like" textures for background. Budget is low at the moment at about $200.
First post but I have been lurking for awhile.
Thanks.

definately get the EA-1. very easy to use, more than good enough basses, two part onboard sequencer and all.
welcome on board

save up an extra $100 and get a microkorg or micron. if you really got into the micron and learnt it's sequencing it'd almost be an all-in-one for you although the interface is a pain. The morphable virtual analog drums would work very well

Sad to say, I almost got a TR-606 for $350 but some one got it before me.

that's a pretty average price for a 606.

Boss DR-110 sell for around $100 and would be a good drum machine for minimal-type stuff.
Although I'm not familiar with Electribes, I see many VSE'rs recommend them. The ER-1 & EA-1 typically sell for $100 - $150 each. I see 2 people above already recommended the EA-1.

Would the DR-110 and EA-1 work well together?

The DR-110 & EA-1 would not work well together without something to trigger the DR-110's clock. I was merely suggesting the DR-110 as an inexpensive alternative to the Roland TR-606.

Re: Synths for Minimal Acid.
505 & 626 are other cheap options that'd chain w/ the EA-1.
Re: Synths for Minimal Acid.
I'm going to get a DR-110 for the analog sounds. I know it doesn't have a sync but those sounds are what I like. What would be some good texture synths if the EA-1 wouldn't work well.
Re: Synths for Minimal Acid.
Also I should be a little more up front with my style of music. I am more into Avant-garde rock, and just want to use analog drums and synths as textures. Minimal acid would just be the inspiration for the sounds used.

Re: Synths for Minimal Acid.
micron for power/price. It's not great for designing sounds from scratch but theres a lot of patches on board (around a thousand?) and it's cheap, and can do drums. interface is terrible but I believe there's a computer editor which would help things a lot.
