I saw this at their NAMM show booth. They had a couple prototype models there for demo/display. It looks cool, it can even sample and has a micro SD slot.

But the cheap plastic casing (Think ultra-cheap budget digital tuner) has to go in order for people to take this thing seriously. I even told them about it.

I don't mind plastic. It's lightweight and very durable most of the time in the modern age. Metal gets scratched and dented and is very heavy. And of course wood rots and gets scratched and dented and faded.

No I meant the particular type of plastic they used for the casing. It's the same kind that's used for plastic forks and spoons. There's better kinds of plastic out there that they can use.

Th iPhone screen is just a little too small for me. And once my fingers get going, a huge chunk of the screen is obscured. I like the fact that there are also controls away from the screen. The size looks like it's just above the KORG Kaossilator. The only hang-up is that it's wild fun to music anywhere, but the sound doesn't hold up when it's brought back into the main lab.

Obviously, I wouldn't expect a hand-held device to compete will a wall of keyboards,
but if some of it translated well and could be kept...

Anyone track down a price?

It says it can be used to control a DAW on your computer and then I imagine you can have your hardware synths slaved to that. If that's the case it looks like it would be a fun way to compose and jam away from the computer.

this could be really, really cool as a sequencer if it's got adequate MIDI capability. It doesn't look like it even has MIDI in/out so that looks unlikely but who knows.

hopefully the USB port can host a MIDI interface so this could operate external gear. then, this device has a lot of potential as a very nice hardware sequencer.

Emailed them and am awaiting an answer about MIDI support. Will post whatever I get back (if anything) here.
