Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a bus powered interface that works with linux os.

Most class compliant devices work well with JACK. M-Audio stuff typically works well. I am using a Fast Track Ultra, but it's not bus powered. Previously I used an Alesis Photon X25 which worked great, and I've also used a Novation XioSynth 25 which has the added bonus of basically having a K-Station built into it. I've heard that the Edirol UA-25 works quite well, not sure if it's bus powered or not.

I can tell you for certain the Steinberg stuff doesn't work, nor does the Focusrite Saffire 6 USB.

I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 with the generic (stock) 64-bit kernel. I've tested my interface in Natty as well and it works. For some of the FTU's hardware features I do occasionally have to fire up a Windows virtual machine.

I've used Behringer UCA 202 in the past (OK it was cheap...) I'm currently running with a Lexicon Alpha. Works out of the box.

Well the UA-25 is bus powered and nice and cheap as well. Would I get decent sound quality compared to the US-122MKII (my current sound card, incompatible with linux)

Actually, scrap that, the lexicon alpha is much nicer. Out of the box compatibility! Woohoo!
And cheap too!

EDIT: Whats the sound quality like compared to something like the US-122mkII?
